Romans
Perfect for any room in the house.
Design
In a Roman blind the fabric usually has rods inserted into the back of the fabric so when the blind is raised it retracts into panels or folds, one in front of the other. When the blind is fully lowered the fabric hangs straight. With Roman blinds it is possible to have a lining which can be black-out.
Operation
Typically, these blind styles are operated with a continuous chain on one side or by a cord which is secured on a cleat. Using either method makes it possible to stop the blind at any position.
Motorisation is also an option as are battery-operated motors linked to switches or remote controls.
Window blind safety
The BBSA recommends using blinds which do not contain operating cords or chains, or which have concealed tensioned cords. These products are ‘safe by design’ and are widely available.
Roman blinds can be stopped at any position allowing you to control the amount of light and warmth which enters your room.
